In the beginning of 2002 Intermedic donated their most famous vehicle, a Chevrolet K20 4x4, which is now considered as an official cultural artifact, to the Swiss museum of transportation in Lucerne. The reliable and powerful vehicle was used by the airport ambulance Zurich from 1984 until 1994 and was forwarded to Intermedic afterwards. From that time on the ambulance has been used for innumerous emergency calls, has been stationed for sport events and accompanied the Tour de Suisse and the GP Tell for several years.

The ambulance had the peak of its craft in the TV-appearance of the movie “Spital in Angst”. It was driven by the actor Sabrina Schneebeli and blasted after a long lasting kidnapping scene. The vehicle that was set in flames was a structurally identical ambulance that was already withdrawn from service, though. The original ambulance stayed in service for another two years until it was replaced by two new vehicles with a box-body.

The Swiss museum of transportation in Lucerne classified the ambulance as a cultural artifact, which is supposed to maintain and be used for on-topic exhibitions.

But even the Swiss museum of transportation in Lucerne refused to pension off the vehicle right away and devoted it as a representative of the Swiss museum of transportation in Lucerne for the Tour de Suisse in 2002, whereby it had to travel through the entire country.
