The emergency operations are performed by professionals.

Because of their education and the steady advanced training, the paramedics are in the position to perform a high quality medical treatment. If it is necessary, they always have the chance to consult or ask for the additional help of specialists such as emergency doctors, midwives or heads of operations, as well.

Paramedics are trained for three years. During the emergency operations they are often confronted with the fears, expectations and hopes of the patients’ relatives. The medical and social situation has to be controlled at any time and by all means.

The theoretical training is taught by external, acknowledged paramedic schools. For the practical training the students have to complete an internship on the ambulance and in the hospital.

In order to estimate the ability to cope with pressure, the future paramedics always start as "Sanitätsassistenten". They are always in collaboration with experienced paramedics, in order to be backed up and to get prepared to work independently at one point.
